Mindfulness Colouring

Image
On Friday, as part of our PSHE lesson we put some calming music on and began colouring in our personalised bookmarks. Georgia thanked Mrs Hurst at the end of the lesson as she enjoyed it so much! What a lovely thing to do. We discussed the importance of finding a calm space when sometimes we feel overwhelmed by our emotions. We talked about visualising our favourite place, when we can't be there and using that to focus on to calm ourselves down. Mindfulness colouring is a very relaxing activity and something that we will continue to do throughout the year.  Here are our bookmarks so far. Once they are complete, we will then laminate them and use them to hold our place in our choosing books in class. 😊

Well you awesome lot managed to get 100% in the first week of Year 4! 👏🏼 So remember on Wednesday to leave your uniform at home and come into school in your own clothes.

George's Marvellous Medicine

Image
As part of our Literacy topic this week we have been looking at how to write a recipe for our own marvellous medicines.  The children have had lots of fun creating their own medicines at home. The aroma coming from them was rather off putting to say the least! We loved listening to each of the children telling us all about their medicines,  what they chose to put in and what mysterious effects it has on the unlucky person who takes it.

Numbers to 10,000

This week in Numeracy we have been looking at place value and today we focused on numbers to 10,000. We used place value charts and counters to make numbers up to 10,000. We then took turns in making a number for our partners who had to read the number that had been made for them. Well done 4HT!
